Rich Curtis was born in Tuscaloosa and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. For over 25 years, he has worked as a visual artist and art educator. His creative practice spans a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, performance art, and creative writing. Curtis earned a BFA in Painting from the University of North Alabama in 2000 and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004. He currently lives in Thomasville, Georgia, with his wife and their cat, where he serves as Associate Professor of Art at Thomas University.
