Botini is an African American poet and painter from Valdosta, Georgia. With a deep commitment to exploring the complexities of Black womanhood, her work serves as both an introspective journey and a cultural dialogue. Primarily working in acrylics, Botini’s paintings focus on portraiture that invites the viewer to engage in an intimate conversation about the portrayal of Black women in society—questioning the divide between how they are perceived and who they truly are.

Drawing inspiration from African spirituality and ancestor veneration, Botini seeks to honor both the known and unknown ancestors who shape our collective history and identity. Her work is a spiritual practice, connecting past and present, and paying homage to the lineage that has shaped the lives of Black women. Through her art, she explores themes of resilience, identity, and the power of self-expression, hoping to create spaces where these conversations can unfold with depth and authenticity.

Whether through the written word or the painted canvas, Botini uses her creative practice to illuminate the stories, struggles, and triumphs of Black women, elevating their voices and experiences in ways that invite reflection, healing, and empowerment.
