I’m a graphite artist drawn to the quiet intensity of realism. My work is rooted in portraiture because I’m endlessly fascinated by the human face; how much can be said in a glance, a wrinkle, a shadow. With just pencil and paper, I try to capture more than a likeness; I want to reveal something honest, maybe even vulnerable, about the person I’m drawing.
There’s something meditative about working in graphite. It forces me to slow down, to pay attention to the smallest details, and to connect deeply with the subject. Every mark is intentional, every layer a step toward something more lifelike and emotionally true.
My practice is grounded in traditional techniques, but I’m always exploring new ways to bring nuance and life into my work. For me, realism isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence.
